RETAIL AND CONSUMER BUSINESS
New opportunities in retail and consumer
The retail and consumer sector is at an interesting place: technology and demographic trends are driving greater cost and complexity. Competition is fierce. At the same time, there are extraordinary opportunities for businesses who dare to innovate. Adapt your products, services, and operating models to ensure a responsive and seamless customer journey.
Digital continues to transform the sector
Customers have greater choice than ever before. They can shop online, at any time, across multiple channels. So how can brands stand out? Those who create a highly personalised service and exceptional product offering are leading the sector. Organisations need empowered, connected and autonomous product teams delivering omnichannel excellence to exceed customer expectations at speed. New AI-powered capabilities need concrete business strategies, technology integration considerations and adoption processes to realise their potential.
Purpose with profit
High rents and labour costs are shrinking already-thin margins for retailers—yet physical stores remain hugely important. Integrating digital is no longer enough: it must be streamlined everywhere to exceed consumer expectations for seamless, personalised experiences. Brands that can strike the right balance between high street and online stores—giving customers an exceptional experience while streamlining operations—are set up for the future of retail.
Cautious optimism driving growth
Retailers are moving forward with cautious optimism, with delayed or abandoned investments moving back onto the strategic agenda. There are strong growth opportunities— but only for those brands that can balance cost savings, explore new routes to market, foster partnerships and consider acquisitions.
