In July, over 200 dedicated colleagues came together across more than 17 opportunities in the UK, US, Ireland and India, each one stepping up to create real impact as part of our Gate One Gives Back CSR Day. And the momentum continues, with 8 members of our France team set to join the effort in September, volunteering for Les Petites Cantines in Paris.
At Gate One, giving back to others is part of our DNA, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a core part of our business. Running since 2021, our annual CSR helps us to continue investing in local community projects, organisations and people to create lasting, meaningful change. And this year, our team in France will be joining us for the first time, helping to deliver real impact!
On 17th July, members of UK global Gate One team spent the day supporting practically in communities local to our Gate One office locations in London and Manchester. This ranged from organising food donations, cooking and serving in shelters, painting community spaces, doing physical work in city farms, volunteering in community gardens, and many more. Another group used their core business and people transformation expertise to help LIFT, a partnership between the boroughs of Camden, Hackney and Islington, to create opportunities for local people and support businesses in tech, creative and sciences, delivering real impact, pro bono!
We are also proud to continue supporting and inspiring future generations and those with limited access to guidance and advice. Our teams ran a career building workshop for The Baytree Centre, inspiring them to take that next exciting step in their entrepreneurial journeys.
Across the pond, our Gate One NYC team rolled up their sleeves for an incredible day of service with God’s Love We Deliver (GLWD) in Manhattan, a charity that has been cooking and home-delivering nutritious, individually tailored meals to people living with severe illness in the New York metro area. Our team helped their staff and other volunteers to prep 4,000-4,500 meals during a three-hour shift!
Our colleagues in India used the opportunity to step away from their desks and spend the day painting a local school through Stand Up India Foundation in what they describe as “one of the most rewarding days that they have had together.”
Over in Ireland, the team yet again supported Active Connections, a non-for-profit that works with young people facing behavioural challenges across the country. They rolled up their sleeves to help restore a sensory pod, paint the exterior, refresh the interior, clean and prepare the space, and support the installation of equipment that will help bring the facility back into use.
Sonia Cochet, Gate One Gives Back CSR Principal, said: “Giving back is a huge part of the Gate One culture. When recruiting, we actively seek out individuals who genuinely care about making a difference as, for many of our people, social impact isn’t just a nice-to-have – it’s a real passion. That’s why initiatives like our Gate One Gives Back CSR Day are so powerful and they’re brought to life by colleagues who, year-after-year, go the extra mile to create meaningful, shared experiences.”
Lydia Kim, Gate One Gives Back Lead, said: “Gate One Gives Back was a powerful reminder that even small actions can make a meaningful difference. We were proud to spend time supporting charities, community groups and individuals who are navigating increasingly complex challenges, offering everything from strategic guidance and mentoring to practical, hands-on help. What stood out most was the opportunity to connect with so many remarkable people whose dedication and resilience are making a real impact every day. It was an inspiring experience that reinforced our commitment to giving back and using our skills to support the communities around us.”
At Gate One, we tackle your toughest challenges and accelerate your boldest ambitions. Our mission is to deliver meaningful change.
