Gate One are united by the desire to drive meaningful change to make a real difference to society. On the 8th December 2023, Gate One successfully held their second corporate and social responsibility (CSR) day called ‘Gate One Gives Back’, where all employees and partners step back from client support and give back to those most in need.
Two-thirds of the Gate One team spent the day in their local community supporting practically. This ranged from organising food donations, cooking in shelters, helping in charity shops, wrapping gifts, packing essential family support packs, providing companionship at daycares, volunteering in community gardens, street outreach and collecting donations in TFL stations.
Another group delivered workshops and complimentary consultancy support across eleven charities, helping them tackle a specific challenge or concern. This ranged from improving volunteer onboarding experiences, to enhancing digital and data transformations and developing growth strategies to support charities with long-term stability.
The final group supported five schools and over 100 young people across London, as part of Gate One’s Youth Outreach programme. The team ran workshops inspiring young people to identify their skills, enabling them to use these as a guide when making early career choices. Attendees also completed the HAVAS marketplace to help understand the range of careers to inspire them for the future.
In total, the team worked with 32 charities across 43 volunteering experiences, making a meaningful difference across London and beyond.
Sarah Kinvig
Sarah Kinvig, the Gate One Gives Back CSR lead, said: “In today’s climate, giving back to others is essential. We are privileged and recognise that the rising cost of living has left many charities and not-for-profit organisations with limited resources to provide key services that are so desperately needed by people in our local communities. It was an eye-opening experience for us all and an amazing feeling to have a positive impact on charities in a way that was most useful for them. Whether it was using our Gate One skills to problem solve a challenge, supporting young people prepare for life after school, or rolling our sleeves up to support practically, we are super proud and thankful for the opportunity to Give Back at Gate One.”
In addition to Gate One Gives Back, the business also held a fundraising kick-off with a range of activities, raising over £2,200 for the British Red Cross to support those on the ground in Gaza and Israel during the conflict in the Middle East. This brings Gate One’s 2023 total to over £12,000, supporting their many charity partners, SANE, Fare Share, Hubbub, Resurgo and includes their charity campaigns for Movember and Girlfriends Society. They aren’t finished yet, with more fundraising planned in the final two weeks of the year.
At Gate One, we tackle your toughest challenges and accelerate your boldest ambitions. Our mission is to deliver meaningful change.
