A major sports and gaming organisation with operations in multiple countries and a large retail and digital business wanted to expand its digital business, improve its technology infrastructure and embed innovation into its business operations, while simultaneously reducing costs in order to respond to the highly competitive and challenging environment.

We were engaged to support them review and redesign the core components of the operating model for their technology function. Working with the CIO and IT leadership team, we created a blueprint for the future technology business, with new designs for each of the different areas, including a Scaled Agile and DevOps methodology, a new organisational structure, role changes and a new governance structure. We also developed a robust business case and implementation plan that were signed off by the company’s executive.

The new operating model supports the long-term strategy of the business and has delivered capabilities and processes that improve the speed and quality of product development, lead to greater collaboration between technology and the business, embed innovation and design-thinking processes and generate cost savings.
