Our client, a UK home improvement retailer, was looking to grow the business after a period of cost reduction. There was a need for a transformation portfolio office which would work with senior leadership to identify strategic priorities, challenge plans to achieve growth, manage interdependencies and bring senior leadership together as one.
We worked closely with the director and head of transformation to design new ways of working. At the centre of this, the team set up a quarterly planning cycle where the transformation leads met to map dependencies, review their plans together and identify the joint outcomes for the team and the customer. The team designed the processes and systems required to support the new ways of working and also introduced the ChAgile® methodology as the portfolio change management approach.
There is now one shared transformation plan for the organisation aligned to the strategic priorities. A permanent transformation portfolio office team has also been established to embed the new ways of working.
