Gate One has been shortlisted in the following three categories at this year’s prestigious MCA Awards: ‘Best new consultancy’, ‘Change and transformation in the private sector’ and ‘Outstanding achievement for an individual’.
The MCA Awards are the benchmark for quality within the consulting industry and celebrate how clients and consultants work together to achieve the best results.
Best new consultancy
In this category, Gate One has been recognized for its mission to deliver meaningful, lasting change to its clients’ businesses, employees’ careers, and by extension, to the management consultancy profession and society as a whole. It does this by challenging as well as supporting, making evidence-based recommendations, ensuring collaborative working, and a strategic but pragmatic approach. A key differentiator is Gate One’s entrepreneurial mindset, which is invaluable to addressing client problems, and encourages creativity, leadership and grit within its own consultants.
Change and transformation in the private sector
Gate One has been recognized for its work with a major hospitality company, which agreed to sell one of its most notable brands in a landmark multi-billion-pound deal. To achieve the sale, the business being sold had to be separated out from its parent company as a fully standalone entity in a tight and uncertain timescale. The separation involved significant changes across internal functions. It also required the separation of a supplier base of over 200 companies, separation of estates, and agreement of commercial terms for ongoing transitional services. The businesses were successfully separated in just four months and the deal completed.
Outstanding achievement for an individual
This category recognizes Jen Nixon, a manager at Gate One, for successfully creating a new service line around retail sustainability that the company has taken to market. The initiative has gained widespread exposure, including Jen being invited to provide her expertise on the topic on BBC Breakfast.
Tim Phillips, managing partner at Gate One, said: “The MCA Awards are our industry’s benchmark of excellence. To be shortlisted in three such diverse categories demonstrates the breadth and quality of the work carried out by our consultants. We are focused on delivering change that counts, working with client teams to embed lasting best practice that enables them to achieve ongoing success.”
The winners will be announced at the MCA awards ceremony on Thursday 23 April at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London.
