Gate One, the digital and business transformation consultancy, chose the theme of ‘meaningful change in the community’ for its winter Gateaway event, participating in a range of activities to support local charities.

Some of the Gate One team spent the morning in their local community organizing food donations and wrapping gifts for charities such as City Harvest, Cards for Good Causes and Royal Trinity Hospice.

The rest were split up into small teams, with each team working with a charity to help them address a specific challenge or concern during a two-hour, virtual workshop. These ranged from how to implement new agile ways of working, to understanding and improving the volunteer experience, to how best to use data for decision-making.

In all, the teams worked with 17 charities, including Mencap, Save the Children, Meningitis Now, Crisis, Khalsa Aid and Mental Health at Work.

Rob Bradshaw, a client director at Gate One, led the team that organised this season’s Gateaway event. He said: “After what has been a challenging year for us all, bringing the Gate One community together to make a meaningful difference to these charities was incredibly rewarding. Charities have been impacted in many ways during the pandemic, affecting their services at a time when vulnerable members of society need their support more than ever. These organisations are vital to our society and we’re delighted to have had the chance to support their mission in some small way.”

Gate One employees were also donating money to their charity partners Coin Street, FareShare and Resurgo throughout the day and raised over £2,000, including Gift Aid.
