Our client was integrating two large retail businesses and wanted to combine the two commercial functions. The new function needed to serve the different brands, customers, channels, distribution networks and stores, all while realizing synergies and enabling growth.
To support our client in achieving this task, we formed a joint team to guide the executive rapidly through the tough decisions needed to unlock the design. This allowed us to deliver a successful new operating model and an agreed organizational structure. We put line management at the heart of the change from the start, to ensure buy-in and joint design, and we then coordinated the implementation.
The result was a design which was owned by, and had credibility with, both the leadership and line management. The team successfully led the implementation, realizing significant synergies and revenue opportunities.
