True to our values, Gate One continues to invest in local community projects, organisations and people to create lasting, meaningful change.

In September this year, over 165 staff pressed pause on dedicating their support to clients and came together to deliver true impact to various charities in 15 locations across the UK, Ireland and the US.

The majority of the Gate One team spent the day in their local community supporting practically. This ranged from organising food donations, cooking and serving in shelters, painting community spaces, packing essential family support packs, providing companionship and volunteering in community gardens.

One group delivered deep-dive data sessions and consultancy workshops to charities Stonewall and Link UP. Our insight helped them tackle specific challenges such as scaling up their organisations, securing sustainable funding and identifying gaps and trends to shape their future strategies. We were not only excited to take part but to also connect with our neighbours, Argent, to deliver real impact.

Another group supported five opportunities, assisting over 35 individuals across London as part of Gate One’s Career Building programme. The team ran workshops inspiring budding entrepreneurs to start their own businesses and provided CV and career advice to refugees to help them find paid work in the UK.

Over in Ireland, the team partnered with Active Connections – this not-for-profit works with young people facing behavioural challenges across Ireland. The team were on hand to give their Wexford hub a little TLC. They got their hands dirty painting, gardening, weeding and even building a picnic bench from scratch!

Across the pond, our New York team supported Green City Force, preparing one of their urban farms by weeding, spreading mulch and even covering up a rat hole! They learnt first-hand how the charity works in the community, growing fresh food in the city and about their mission to build a more sustainable world.

And it didn’t stop there, we also hosted our Gate One Gives Back Fundraising Event raising an incredible £1,671 for our two charity partners Resurgo and Sebby’s; the perfect way to continue the spirit of giving back following our daytime activities. So far, in 2024, we’ve donated over £8k to charity and collectively raised £6k to support our charity partners. And with 3 months left of the year, we’re excited to be hosting our final fundraisers across November and December to stretch our impact even further.

In total, the team came together across 25 volunteering experiences, making a meaningful difference across London, Ireland and the US.

Sonia Cochet, Gate One Gives Back CSR Principal, said: “Giving back is part of Gate One’s DNA. We recruit people who have low ego and want to help others. We also have people working at Gate One for whom this is a real passion and go to great efforts to organise events like the Gate One Gives Back CSR Day and the rest of the company fully get behind it. It’s really brilliant to see!”

Jemma Roback, Gate One Gives Back CSR lead, said: “We feel privileged to work for a company that looks beyond itself and prioritises helping those around us. We understand the significant impact the current climate is having on charities and non-profits. Our recent CSR day was an eye-opening experience, allowing us to meet and support many wonderful people in our local area. It was incredibly fulfilling to positively impact charities in ways that were most useful for them. We are immensely proud and grateful for the opportunity to give back.”
