Too many organisations fall into the trap of over designing the end state without first testing and adapting proposed changes to their operating model. This increases the risk that changes won’t work in practice and means problems are harder to fix further down the line.

Long-lasting change often fails to materialise due to insufficient staff engagement during the design and implementation phases. If your staff don’t feel bought into the changes, they are unlikely to take the necessary steps required to make the changes stick.
